This cartridge has substantial amounts of granulated activated carbon giving it impressive adsorptive capabilities. For this reason it is effective at removing chlorine and improving taste odor. Also incorporated in the design is a graded density polypropylene material which filters dirt sediment down to 5 microns.

Unlike string-wound and pleated paper cartridges, the rigid, sturdy construction of the Aqua-Pure cartridges are able to withstand high pressure drop and stressful conditions such as water hammer.
