The KleenWater KWAP5527 filter set uses high quality activated carbon to remove chlorine and chemical contaminants from water. This set is comprised of 2 filter cartridges. Filter 1 provides sediment filtration down to 5 microns. This filter employs granular activated carbon to protect the AP5500 reverse osmosis membrane from degradation caused by chlorine. Filter 2 employs carbon block filtration technology to remove taste / odor contaminants. This is the 3rd and final stage of filtration performed by the AP5500 reverse osmosis drinking water system.
